Team Leader, Engineering

The candidate will join the Catalyze Engineering department to lead a new SCRUM team currently being set-up in India.

This team will be devoted to the implementation of foundational services of the new J1 Architecture based on microservices (such us identity management, message brokering, workflow engine), integration services (public APIs, cloud connectors, etc) and cross functional e2e applications.

Being in contact with other engineering teams in Europe and US, you will coordinate the creation of a microservices architecture built in Java, Spring, React deployed in a container-based environment (Kubernetes) into a cloud infrastructure.

• Coordinate coding, testing, and implementation activities of core functionality according to specifications (Java, Spring, React, MySQL)
• Contribute to the analysis done by POs and lead the development effort of software components aimed to interface third party systems and to integrate other features with the Catalyze module of the JAGGAER One platform, by exposing and consuming REST and GraphQL APIs
• Accountable for the estimation process (for both release planning and sprint planning) and the related progress monitoring activities for any analysis and development task of back-end and front-end components and shared services to be provided by the Catalyze product component (microservices architecture)
• Contribute to the new scrum team set-up, running interviews to candidates for the Software Engineer positions assigned to the new team
• Contribute to the ongoing design and development of enhancements to the Catalyze Architecture (APIs, shared components, identity management, internal messaging service, web services, etc.)
• Build up expert knowledge in various modules and software components as well as in the development process e supporting technologies.

Position Requirements:

• More than 10 years of experience with web application development with good knowledge of Java programming especially with Spring Framework
• Knowledge of JavaScript frontend frameworks (especially React) is preferred.
• Previous experience with SOAP or REST web-services and integration projects is a plus.
• Knowledge of ORM frameworks, GraphQL or BPM libraries and tools will be a plus.
• Experience with agile methodologies desirable.
• Strong communication, analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Clean and easy-to-read code is highly important to you and you keep your debug outputs tidy and write comments where necessary.
• Good command of English (written and spoken)
• Autonomous, eager to learn, willing to share knowledge and able to adapt to new processes and workflows
• Experience with procurement or strategic sourcing applications, desirable
