Tech Lead – Agentic & AI Systems

As a Tech Lead – Agentic & AI Systems at Jaggaer, you will lead the hands-on development and technical execution of production-grade, AI-native platforms for enterprise procurement. 

You will operate as a hands-on technical leader, responsible for designing systems, writing critical code, and driving the team on technical execution. You will work closely with architects to implement scalable and reliable agentic AI solutions.

Technical Leadership & Direction 

• Drive the implementation of architecture and design for agentic AI systems in collaboration with architects.  

• Guide the team on system design, implementation approaches, and trade-offs.  

• Ensure adherence to engineering standards, design patterns, and best practices.  

• Translate architectural direction into clear, executable technical plans.  

Hands-on Engineering 

• Contribute actively to production code (backend services, orchestration, evaluation pipelines).  

• Lead development of core platform components (LLM orchestration, APIs, retrieval systems).  

• Drive implementation of RAG/CAG pipelines and agent workflows.  

Driving Technical Execution 

• Break down complex problems into clear technical execution plans.  

• Unblock engineers by providing deep technical guidance and solutions.  

• Lead code reviews and design reviews to maintain high engineering quality.  

• Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of AI initiatives.  

AI/LLM Systems Engineering 

• Design and implement agentic architectures, LLM workflows, and multi-agent systems.  

• Establish best practices for prompting, tool usage, memory, and failure handling.  

• Evaluate and integrate emerging GenAI frameworks and tools.  

Quality, Reliability & Observability 

• Define and implement evaluation frameworks (RAGAS, DeepEval).  

• Ensure observability across AI systems (latency, cost, accuracy, failures).  

• Drive performance optimization and cost efficiency.  

Collaboration 

• Work closely with product, architects, platform, and DevOps teams to deliver scalable solutions.  

• Ensure production readiness on GCP, including scalability, security, and reliability.  

Mentorship 

• Mentor engineers on system design, AI patterns, and coding standards.  

• Elevate team capability in building and operating agentic AI systems.  

Experience 

• 8–10 years of software engineering experience.  

• Proven experience building and scaling LLM-powered or AI-driven systems in production.  
• Experience in a Tech Lead or senior technical role driving execution.
