Role Summary:

The Associate Manager, Web Developer will own the core architecture, custom development, technical health,
security, and performance of our global web properties. This person will be responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining scalable WordPress themes and plugins, ensuring seamless API integrations, maintaining airtight security, and delivering exceptional front-end performance across all regions, pages, and business units.

 

This role will lead technical implementation for web projects, engineer custom Gutenberg blocks, optimize core infrastructure, troubleshoot complex code issues, and partner closely with demand generation, SEO, UX/UI design, marketing operations, and external engineering partners.

 

The ideal candidate is a hands-on code owner, highly skilled in modern PHP and JavaScript, obsessed with Web Vitals, and capable of translating marketing goals into high-performing, maintainable code.

 

 

Principal Responsibilities

Custom WordPress Development & Engineering

  • Design and engineer custom, high-performing WordPress themes and plugins from scratch using modern PHP, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and SCSS/CSS.
  • Build modular, editor-friendly custom Gutenberg blocks using React and native block APIs to empower non technical content managers.

 

Website Management & Development

  • Own the day-to-day management, maintenance, and technical performance of the corporate website.
  • Build, update, edit, and publish website pages within the CMS.
  • Make front-end code changes using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Understand and troubleshoot back-end website functionality, CMS architecture, templates, plugins, APIs, databases, and integrations.
  • Develop or modify reusable website components, templates, landing pages, forms, navigation elements, and other site functionality.
  • Ensure new website functionality is implemented cleanly and consistently across desktop, tablet, and mobile experiences.
  • Review and troubleshoot code when website functionality, styling, forms, tracking, or integrations are not working as expected.

 

Technical Website Troubleshooting

  • Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve technical website errors.
  • Investigate and resolve issues across front-end, back-end, CMS, hosting, integrations, analytics, and
    performance.
  • Use browser developer tools, error logs, monitoring platforms, and debugging tools to identify root causes.
  • Coordinate with hosting providers, developers, IT, security teams, and third-party vendors when deeper technical support is required.

Website Performance & Technical SEO

  • Monitor and improve website speed, accessibility, usability, and overall technical health.
  • Support Core Web Vitals, page speed, mobile performance, and site architecture improvements.
  • Partner with SEO teams to implement technical SEO recommendations.
  • Identify and resolve technical SEO issues across crawling, indexation, redirects, rendering, metadata, and structured data.
  • Support implementation and validation within Google Search Console and other SEO monitoring platforms.

CMS & Website Infrastructure

  • Serve as a technical owner and administrator of the website CMS.
  • Manage CMS users, permissions, templates, plugins, themes, modules, and website configurations.
  • Maintain development, staging, and production website environments.
  • Support website releases, deployments, migrations, and QA processes.
  • Manage or coordinate website backups, updates, patches, and version control.
  • Understand DNS, SSL certificates, domains, CDN configuration, hosting environments, and website
    infrastructure.
  • Help maintain website security and identify vulnerabilities or outdated software.

 

Marketing Technology & Integrations

  • Work closely with Marketing Operations, Demand Generation, SEO, Content, Analytics, and IT teams.
  • Support integrations between the website and CRM, marketing automation, analytics, tag management, form platforms, chat tools, consent management platforms, and third-party APIs.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to lead capture, form routing, tracking, attribution, and website-to-CRM
    integrations.
  • Support implementation of analytics and marketing tracking including Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, conversion pixels, and campaign tracking.

 

Content & Website Operations

  • Partner with marketing and content teams to publish new pages, campaigns, resources, and website updates.
  • Ensure content updates follow brand, UX, accessibility, SEO, and technical standards.
  • Manage website requests and prioritize changes based on business impact.
  • Conduct QA before and after website releases.
  • Maintain documentation covering website architecture, technical processes, integrations, templates, and recurring maintenance.

Position Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in website management, web development, web operations, or a similar technical website role.
  • Strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience managing and developing within an enterprise CMS, preferably WordPress or a comparable
    platform.
  • Strong understanding of both front-end and back-end website architecture.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical website problems independently and determine root causes.
  • Experience working with APIs, plugins, website integrations, and third-party services.
  • Understanding of web hosting, DNS, CDN, SSL, caching, server environments, and website deployment
    processes.
  • Experience using browser developer tools and debugging website errors.
  • Strong knowledge of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Understanding of technical SEO and website performance optimization.
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, or similar digital platforms.
  • Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
  • Strong QA discipline and attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate technical website issues into clear explanations for non-technical stakeholders.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Experience supporting a large-scale B2B, SaaS, or enterprise website.
  • Experience with PHP, SQL, React, Node.js, or other web development technologies.
  • Experience working with WordPress themes, plugins, custom post types, and PHP templates.
  • Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
  • Experience with website hosting platforms such as WP Engine, Kinsta, or similar enterprise hosting providers.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and development/staging/production environments.
  • Experience with accessibility standards, including WCAG.
  • Experience with website security, vulnerability management, and performance monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with CRM and marketing automation platforms such as Salesforce, Marketo, HubSpot, or similar technologies.
